Thanks to everyone who submitted fan questions in our Ask A Tudor post. Actor Mark Hildreth, AKA Reginald Pole, was nice enough to respond with this great video! Here is what he had to say about working on The Tudors, drinking pints in Ireland, and Joss Stone!

When are we going to see The tudors in Argentina?
I can´t wait to see you guys!!!!!
Kissing in greeting was quite common in both England and France in the time of Henry VIII, Erasmus and the others of that time.
Yet we never see it on the show, so far as I recall in the episodes I have seen.
Pretty dramatic for example would have been when Henry and Anne Boleyn visit France in season 2, episode 2. Visiting dignitaries of either sex to a royal court would normally have been kissed (on the mouth) by a lot of people, of either sex. Actually, it is pretty likely that each of the ladies of the court of France would have kissed the visiting king.
See the Kiss and Its History.
And kissing in greeting would have occurred in many other situations that you show
So great to hear more from Mark! Is it time for Season 4 yet????
Can someone explain to me why the series had Henry’s sister “Margaret” married to the Duke of Suffolk (Charles Brandon), when in TRUE history, it was his sister Mary that married him and died young. His sister Margaret actually wed James the VI king of Scotland. I’m just curious why the series would stray from the truth for no good reason.
Because they didn’t think Americans could wrap our little brains around 2 characters … besides, Margaret was not particularly attractive and we couldn’t have that!
I think having Mary as the Dowager Queen of France in the early episodes would have been delicious, but they were determined to get “the sister” married off.
Yes … the real history was so much better than the simplified one they presented.
I, too, do not understand why Henry’s sisters were not presented correctly. What happens when they need the character of Lady Jane Grey, the 9-day queen, Mary’s granddaughter, and James I, Margaret’s great grandson of Margaret, and Elizabeth I’s successor?
Agree w/Hank’s last statement … Stick to the real history. Besides.. Suffolk & Mary’s grand daughter was Lady Jane Grey “the nine days queen” who later gets beheaded herself. If the show has legs.. How will they deal with that inconsistency in season 7 or 8?
WHo is playing Katherine Parr on the Final 4th season of THE TUDORS?
Someone PLEASE let me know it is driving me nutty!!
Katherine Parr was my favorite of Henry VIII’s queens…
THANKS!
They think we are all air headed dweebs and would be confused by so many Mary’s in one season. Isn’t that confusing!
When does the 4th season start? I just got Showtime and have watched all the 3rd season episodes. I’m hooked!
I´m still waitin for the third season to be watched here in Argentina, hello!!!!
I think by the end of the year ….. we´ll finally see them!
Why is the role of Jane Seymour played by a different actress in Season 3 than it was in Season 2? Why was the first actress who playedJane Seymour in Season 2 replaced?
When DOES the 4th season start? Watching Dexter is becoming tedious at times and I either forget or fall asleep. The vagaries of growing older cause me grief, but I look forward to Season 4.
